The following specifications are needed for a long-distance microscope and imaging recording system to study 3D printing process: Reach image spatial resolution around 1 micron, because the electro hydrodynamic jetting is close to this scale. High frame rate value of tens of frame per second (fps), to monitor the fast movements of inks from printing nozzle and on substrate. Relatively large field of view (FOV) around one or several centimeters, to monitor the nozzle and substrate at the same time. The most critical requirement is resolution, then high frame rate and large FOV, but it is very difficult to achieve these requirements at the same time.
